Preschool & Enrichment Parents' Day Out

PRESCHOOL – INFANT/TODDLER -

The First United Methodist Church has had a preschool program since 1959. The school is licensed and approved by the State of Michigan.
Three year olds attend Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 9:00 to 11:30 a.m. with one optional after school class until 1:00 p.m.
Four year olds attend Monday Wednesday and Friday mornings with optional extended days on Monday and Wednesday until 2:00 p.m. and Spanish and Stretch-n-Grow programs on Friday. Children must reach the required age by December 1st of the year they are enrolled.

Through play art science music and literature we strive to provide a stimulating environment in which each child will grow at his own pace. Our teacher-child ratio is one to seven for all of our classes. This allows our caring staff to provide individual attention while helping the child understand the world around him satisfying his curiosity and developing a good self image.

Our program utilizes five classrooms a kitchen a large activity room an auditorium with stage and an outdoor playground. We take field trips off campus and have special programs at the school.

Our Young 5’s Enrichment Program is designed for young five year olds. It runs Monday through Friday from 9:00-11:30 a.m. with three optional extended days including Spanish and Stretch-n-Grow programs. This is a Pre-Kindergarten program taught by certified experienced teachers. It offers a small student/teacher ratio in a nurturing environment. It features science and math activities field trips music and computer classes.

Arrangements for registration in our programs may be made throughout the year. An Open House is held in January when prospective students and parents can meet the teachers and visit classrooms. Contact the director for information or to arrange individual tours of the school.
