At Cook’s Academy we believe you and your child come first. Our objective is to provide safe sound childcare services with an appropriate early childhood foundational education for infant through five-year-old children. Using a variety of different mediums combined with highly-motivated enthusiastic and qualified staff ours is a comprehensive program. Most of all we want this to be a personal and rewarding experience at this critical stage in your child’s development.

The Best For Our Children

As the working parents of two young children Jim and Kelly Cook started Cook’s Academy in 1996 because they wanted something better than the childcare options available. Their family has since grown by two. Armed with a diverse educational background and seasoned work in the field Kelly set out to create a safe loving environment where children could learn and grow.

The Cook’s adopted their family crest as their logo to represent the pride of ownership and their ideals for the learning center. The Latin phrase at the bottom of the crest “Tutum Monstrat Itur” reflects two of the Academy’s core values: Protect and Educate.

Cook’s Academy offers year-round programs with optional extended day schedules. Our programs combine an innovative educational curriculum modeled after the best school systems and early childhood philosophies as well as a developmentally appropriate play-based environment modeled after the best Montessori programs that fosters your child’s creativity and self-expression — all to stimulate your child’s ability to learn throughout all the stages of their development.

Safe Clean Environment

Cook’s offers developmentally-focused age-relevant classrooms to provide your child with the appropriate environment and activities for her abilities. Plus the number of children in each class is small enough to give each child the attention she deserves.

We have maintained a license and “A” rating inspections by the State of Michigan Department of Health and Human Services since 1995. Regular inspections and counseling sessions with our licensing consultant assure continued compliance and success of the program. We value our partnership with the state regulatory agencies and support their commitment to quality childcare.
