MECE Preschool and Kindergarten is a non-profit school operating on the East Campus of the First United Methodist Church of Boca Raton. It was established in 1973 and Linda Garcia has been the Director since 1985.
MECE is planned with keen awareness of the special characteristics needs interests and way of learning of the young child. With loving teachers MECE seeks to promote the childs spiritual physical intellectual and social-emotional maturity in an atmosphere which reflects basic religious values common to both the Methodist Church and other Christian religions.
The program provides appropriate developmental activities for each child in the areas of language arts math science art music and physical education. The MECE teacher endeavors to emphasize the worth and dignity of the individual child and spiritual growth through educational and engaging activities.

Our program is based on the interests needs and abilities of the young child. Each day is planned and balanced with respect to indoor and outdoor time; individual small group and large group activities; and quiet and active play.
MECE adheres to the philosophy and training of The Creative Curriculum. The Creative Curriculum the countrys leading scientifically based comprehensive curriculum for programs serving children from birth to age 5. The Creative Curriculum is used to plan and implement a developmentally appropriate program that promotes childrens social-emotional development and learning in the core areas of literacy mathematics science and social studies. It combines the latest research and the freshest ideas into a forward-thinking approach to learningone that honors creativity and respects the role that teachers play in making learning exciting and relevant for every child in their classrooms.
MECEs staff have been trained in the Handwriting Without Tears program and use the HWT manipulatives in all three and four year old classrooms. Handwriting Without Tears mission is to make learning and teaching easy and fun by providing superior educational products training and promotional materials to educators and parents.
