Safety and Security
The lobby features a biometric thumbprint recognition system for secure access to the building. Students are checked in and out on a computer so that attendance and pick up information is easily available. High-definition video cameras monitor all areas of every classroom as well as outdoor space. The video is recorded and reviewed for your childs safety as well as staff training. Every classroom has windows along the hallway so that activities can be monitored unobtrusively simply by walking through the building.
Cultivating Academic Excellence
Our school boasts the highest VPK scores in the greater Brandon area for large schools for 6 consecutive years! We have lower ratios and a comprehensive developmentally appropriate curriculum that recognizes the multiple ways children learn. From the infant classroom through our school-age program we focus on a childs growth in the areas of cognition/intelligence social skills behavioral competence and physical abilities.
Healthy Living Healthy Kids
Nutrition is a large part of the entire program. Healthy meals and snacks with high quality fresh fruits and vegetables are paramount. Our peanut-free nut-free school uses whole grain and whole wheat for breads pastas and crackers. Snacks are low in sugar and fat. We do not add salt or butter to any foods and use lower-fat meats such as turkey. We love to introduce children to healthy eating and wellness!
Safe and Well-Maintained Playgrounds
Outdoor space is shaded and divided by fencing for each age group. The Infant Toddler and Two year old playgrounds are covered with synthetic grass. This surface reduces insects heat buildup and keeps mulch from your childs clothing and shoes. The soft underlayment makes the surface very safe for falls and reduces scratches and cuts.
Teaching Cultural Diversity
Our unique Village Piazza is a playroom mirroring the ornate town squares of Europe and representing the different cultures and countries of our families. Role-playing active investigation and an emergent curriculum makes this learning environment a one-of-a-kind experience which is based on the Reggio Emilia philosophy.
