Preschool in Canal Winchester, OH 43110
Faith United Methodist Educare II is a Kindergarten-6th grade extended care facility. During the school year students may attend before and/or after school. The Kindergarteners attend a half-day program here and half-day at Indian Trail Elementary. Bus service is provided by the school district to our facility before school after school and also at Noon for the Kindergarten students. In the summer we offer a full-day program for all students K-6th grade. We offer swimming activities at the Canal Winchester pool some field trips and a variety of fun summer activities. This past summer (2008) we were able to participate in Faith United Methodist Church’s “Wacky Wednesday” activities. Our Kindergarten extended care program is taught by Christine Hoffman a former elementary school teacher. Her program closely follows that of Indian Trail Elementary and she is constantly in contact with the teachers there to ensure the continuity of both programs. (Our Kindergarten program is an extended care enrichment program only and cannot take the place of an accredited Kindergarten program.) All of our lead teachers have college degrees or are working toward a degree. All of our teachers and assistant teachers have experience working with children.

Our traditional nursery school is inherently Christian in its approach. The school is open to the community and follows the basic philosophy and methodology of the United Methodist Church. Being Christian has to do with more than curriculum. It involves attitudes of love and respect for all boys and girls. It means that no child will be discriminated against for reasons of race religion national origin sex or ancestry. The teacher’s role is to plan activities so that the child can learn chiefly from what he or she does rather than from what he or she is told. The toys must promote a youngster’s growth. They must also stimulate his or her development as a creative self-reliant and imaginative citizen in a democratic society. Other training includes learning a number of self-help skills that a child can use in everyday life.
