Welcome to The Children’s Courtyard of Southern Pines (formerly Building Blocks Early Education Center) located in Carthage, NC! Here, we offer Infant, Toddler, Two’s, Preschool, and Pre-Kindergarten programs! We pride ourselves on providing a foundation for your child’s learning and development.

My name is Morgan Mickens and I am the Acting Director here at The Children’s Courtyard. I have 5+ years of experience working early childhood education and I am so excited to be apart of The Children’s Courtyard Community!

Your child’s learning, development, and safety is our top priority here at the center and our committed team of teachers provide an excellent learning experience. We focus on building your child’s critical thinking, self-confidence, and problem-solving abilities. Our team uses strong teacher-child interaction to expand children’s thinking while using diverse materials and nurturing interactions. In all our programs, children engage in active learning—direct, hands-on experiences with people, materials, and ideas.

The dedicated and talented team of teachers in each of our classrooms partake in ongoing training throughout the year to stay current in the field of early childhood education and we closely follow recommendations from state and local authorities, to maintain a healthy environment for all children, staff, and families.
