Freedom Montessori School in Chantilly, Virginia was founded in 2010 to bring a personal and traditional montessori educational method to children between the ages of 2 to 6 years old. Children of this age are naturally curious and driven to learn all they can about the world around them. and our goal is to help them in their quest to learn in a welcoming and comfortable environment.
A secondary goal of Freedom Montessori School is to help parents by understanding their often busy and stressful lives. First we help by having tuition rates below any other area montessori preschool. and second we offer flexible programming to meet the unusual and hectic schedules of parents as they juggle work, family, commuting, and various other commitments. This educational method allows the child to direct their learning. The early impressions a child forms from birth to about age six have a lasting effect on the child’s attitude toward learing and life. This is a period when a child effortlessly absorbs his environment. A child, with the proper environment, will satisfy and stimulate his natural intellectual curiosity and take it as far as he can. Freedom Montessori School (FMS) helps the child develop more fully the potential within him or her by providing the “prepared environment” that Dr. Maria Montessori developed.
The “Prepared Environment” is comprised of the following elements: Practical Life, Sensorial Exercises, Language Use, Mathematics, and Culture, which is comprised of geography, nature, time/history, music, and art. Additionally, FMS will be teaching the children spanish and have regular periods for music and arts and crafts.
Our school’s fully-equipped learning areas create the complete environment promoted by Dr. Montessori. We are committed to providing a full, rich and unhurried day for your child. Montessori trained staff will be with your child from opening until closing and will be dedicated to your child’s needs, educational engagement, and well being.
