Preschool in Charlestown, MA 02129
At the Schraffts Center we have many unique and wonderful opportunities for learning. All of our age groups provide hands on learning that is developmentally appropriate and individualized to each child’s specific needs. We believe in challenging the children with new ideas and experiences while always setting achievable goals for each child. Whether it be an infant trying to roll over, a toddler attempting to self feed, or a preschooler exploring the sensory table, there is learning going on all day long! We believe that meaningful education incorporates child-centered experiences reflecting the children’s interests. We feel that building strong parent partnerships aids in developing and maintaining a feeling of community within the center.
Bright Horizons at the Schraffts Center serves 59 children on a full-time, part-time and back-up basis. The center is located in the same office park as the Schraffts Center.

The Bright Horizons curriculum is based on the key principle that children learn best through active, hands-on exploration. With caring, well-trained, and experienced teachers as guides, our curriculum encourages discovery within a stimulating environment that can nurture each childs curiosity, potential, and growth.
At Bright Horizons, we regard “How smart is this child?” as less important than “How is THIS child smart?” As such, our teachers are mentors who plan and adapt intentional learning experiences for children based on a specific group of students and their individual child development needs.
The World at Their Fingertips is our unique early education curriculum created to foster individual development at every age and stage. Its objectives are based on attaining developmental achievements in all areas: social-emotional, physical, language, and cognitive/intellectual. Recognizing that no two children develop at the same pace, our curriculum provides a framework for highly individualized and flexible learning experiences. Curriculum-based activities, projects, and learning centers keep children engaged while they build important skills to grow.
The World at Their Fingertips offers learning experiences through the following key components:
