Bridgeport Child Development Center I

Located near the South Loop, an annex site to Bridgeport Child Development Center, our quaint child care center offers an unparalleled early learning experience for children age 3 through 5 years. Since 2008, Bridgeport Child Development Center 2, accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), has served the local community with the highest quality early education and child care. Our center offers programs for Twos, Preschoolers and as of Spring 2011, School Age children. We also welcome children with special needs.

Bridgeport 2 boasts three spacious and inviting classrooms, rich with materials, supplies and activities, an art studio and parent resource center. Our center provides nutritious catered meals and snacks daily. Our center is known for its intimate, family-friendly atmosphere where all are welcome and everyone knows your name! Not only are the children friends but their parents become friends through our monthly parent meetings, outings and activities.

We focus on outdoor education daily, whether it is a visit to the shared community playground, taking nature walks in the neighborhood or sharing time and space with our sister center Bridgeport 1. We have plenty of opportunities to run! Field trips, cultural opportunities and community events occur year round which have included visits to the local children’s museum, zoos, museums as well as in-class guest storytellers and traveling shows.

Through our partnerships with Head Start and State Pre-Kindergarten, our programs are designed to meet the needs of the whole child including health, nutrition and social-emotional needs while providing important school-readiness skills. Regular field trips are provided throughout the year to enhance the children’s learning. Family involvement is encouraged through home visits, regular parent-teacher conferences, monthly parent meetings, parent workshops and family outings.
