CPC owns and operates a developmental preschool that has served the congregation and the community for over 40 years, providing quality half-day enrichment programs for 2 , 3, 4, and 5 year olds. Community Presbyterian Church Preschool is proud to be accredited by NAEYC, the National Association for the Education of Young Children, and recognized for our commitment to developmentally appropriate preschool education.
Enrollment for the next school year begins in January and is opened first to church members and then to others. Tuition assistance is available for those who qualify.
The mission of the Child Care Center is to provide quality before- and after-school care to children whose parents work or attend school. The Center serves children ages five to 12 years old and is licensed by the State of Illinois. Center hours are Monday Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. during the school year.
The Child Care Center accepts children from Prospect, Walker, Notre Dame, Manning, Holmes and Maercker schools. Bus service is provided to local schools except Prospect school, which is less than a two-minute walk away for children. A hot lunch is served to kindergartners.
The Center is staffed by qualified teachers who meet or exceed standards required by the Department of Children and Family Services. The teachers plan a variety of activities and provide a safe and comfortable environment for the children.

Our Preschools objectives are to develop a childs curiosity, confidence, independence and resourcefulness, all of which are foundations for future learning. Children will learn to be a member of a group away from home, respect other people and property, and adapt to routines and following directions, while learning to accept and express emotions in an acceptable manner.
The curriculum provides opportunities for children to participate in meaningful, hands-on, interactive experiences. Learning occurs through the childs interaction with real objects, the teacher and other children. There are teacher-planned activities and also child-directed activities as seen in a sound, developmentally appropriate Pre-School program. Activities are set up and are planned for individual as well as small group participation.
