Preschool in Clinton, MD 20735
Our mission is to provide an environment of academic excellence conducive to developing educated citizens with a biblical world-view who are prepared to represent our Lord Jesus Christ in all walks of life.
GBCS school is a thirty-minute drive east of the nation’s capital. The area’s rich American history allows our students and teachers to visit key historical sites in less than an hour at little or no cost.
Christian education involves the whole person; it is desirable that all elements which bear on the education of a student properly reinforce one another. GBCS exists to educate children of Christian parents; therefore, it is important that a Christian school be supported by Christian families and the local church. The school’s purpose is not to replace the training of the home and the church, but rather to complement them. This means that all three should be in Biblical agreement regarding the education of the child. Therefore, it is necessary that all parents agree with the mission, philosophy and educational goals of the school.
Before and After School (BAS) PROGRAM INFORMATION
As a service to our parents, Grace Brethren Christian School operates a Before and After
School (BAS) Program which provides safe, enriching, and quality care for children before
and after school. In this program children will have the opportunity to grow socially and
emotionally as they interact with a diversified group of school-aged children. They may
participate in a variety of indoor and outdoor activities, including time to do homework.
Snacks are provided daily.
This program is open to all students enrolled at GBCS: pre-kindergarten to eighth grade
will be in the BAS Program and high school students will be in a Study Hall. Our program
will provide age-appropriate creative, recreational and physical activities, as well as
homework time. Students will have the opportunity to participate in various activities that
will help them learn sportsmanship and teamwork. Students will also be able to show their
creative side by participating in an assortment of arts and crafts activities. High school
students in Study Hall will have time for doing homework, playing quiet games, and
occasionally participating in outdoor activities as well.
A flexible daily schedule of age-appropriate activities and craft times will be planned by
staff weekly. Staff members will work with the children to complete these crafts and will
oversee activities and games. Each grade level will have craft ideas and items provided for
them for the week to use in combination with the other activities. Grades 1 through 8 will
have a period of homework time appropriate for their grade lever. If a child has no
homework, they are required to read or color quietly.
