We strive to help children become independent self-confident and inquisitive learners. The children are encouraged to be explorers problem solvers and inventors through hands-on learning. We teach good habits and attitudes particularly a positive sense of self-worth that will make a difference throughout their lives. Our goal is to help children love to learn! Through our Christ-centered curriculum each child is valued as a child of God and is taught the joys of knowing the love of Jesus through Bible stories songs and finger plays.
Our curriculum identifies goals in all areas of development:
- Social – To help children feel comfortable in school trust their new environment make friends and feel they are part of the group.
- Academic – To help children grow academically as they learn number and letter recognition phonics pre-reading and math skills through age-appropriate curriculum.
- Emotional – To help children experience pride and self-confidence develop independence learn self-control and have a positive attitude toward life.
- Cognitive – To help children become confident learners by letting them try out their own ideas and experience success and by helping them acquire learning skills such as the ability to solve problems ask questions and use words to describe their ideas observations and feelings.
- Physical – To help children increase their large and small muscle skills and feel confident about their growing bodies.
- Music – Our music program First Steps in Music is included as part of the curriculum for all of the children. It is an early childhood music and movement program that contributes significantly to your child’s education.
- Spiritual – To help children come to know that they are loved by God and that Jesus is their Friend and Savior.
Age Policy – Holy Cross Lutheran Learning Center has a cut-off date of September 1 for the ages in each class. Your child must be the age of the class by September 1 to enter that class.
