School For Young Children

SYC is a part-time preschool program. As a community outreach program of the First Unitarian Universalist Church we are a welcoming school—we do not discriminate upon the basis of race color religion sex sexual orientation economic status or cultural background of parents or children.

There is no religious doctrine taught at the school. We are licensed by the Ohio Department of Human Services and accredited by the National Academy of Early Childhood Programs.

SYC provides a valuable atmosphere for young children by devoting the largest amount of class time to free play . Our children begin to practice life skills by engaging in day-to-day relationships.
Our preschool program runs 32 weeks—from mid-September through the third week in May with a 3-week Winter Recess and a 1-week Spring Break scheduled each year. There are 6 other school holidays scheduled throughout the school year.

All morning classes are 9:15-11:45 a.m. and all afternoon classes are 12:45-3:15 p.m.
