Language in Action offers new Preschools beginning September 7, 2010. It has been our ambition – and for many families in our language centers over the years – to become full Preschool programs. Our Spanish program will continue as HolaKids! Preschool. The Mandarin program will be NiHaoKids Preschool.
This evolution allows children to spend increased time in a language immersion classroom. More hours hearing and speaking a foreign language creates a significant improvement in a child’s foreign language skills. The extra time correlates to increased fluency, and to greater confidence and ease with the language. It also results in better accents!

Our Preschool program serves children ages 2 through 5 in a classroom balanced by age and child development.
We are proponents of mixed age Preschool classrooms because it fosters respect for the learning needs of students and it creates a setting where siblings can attend on the same days, simplifying family schedules. Each child is guided by his or her individual readiness, ability and interests, while being supported by teachers and students. In addition, older children learn by assisting younger children; younger children model behavior by observation of older children.
There are specific periods during the day where children are separated by age groups. For instance, circle time and outdoor time is separate since toddlers have a much shorter attention span as well as differing playground equipment and age-appropriate activities.
