Children’s Day Out of First United Methodist Church of Denton is an extension of the total ministry of the church serving not only the families of the church but also the entire community. It continues its mission to provide a stellar pre-school experience while expanding in 2007 to offer full-time daycare for infants through age 4. Our purpose is to provide learning experiences in a Christian environment where all children will know that they are special and loved.
Early years are known to be the foundation for life and we accept the responsibility for offering a creative sustaining environment where children are given an opportunity to develop according to their individual possibilities. Our goal is for children to reach school age with a solid foundation for learning and relating to others and parents to know what they can do to help their children develop. We provide our students with meaningful learning opportunities to develop skills a sense of self and a foundation for learning throughout life.

Children’s Day Out is a non-profit organization licensed by the Texas Department of Protective and Regulatory Services and governed by the First United Methodist Church of Denton.
Curriculum
Our program for the toddler and preschool child is a semi-structured environment under the leadership of qualified loving Christian teachers and includes a balance of guided play activities creative art work music outdoor play conversation story time dramatic play and group activities.
The curriculum of Children’s Day Out is a thematic curriculum and is individualized for each age taking into consideration the various stages of physical mental social emotional and spiritual development. Children are encouraged to explore the world in which they live and through the various centers they can pursue the development of all their basic skills-from muscular coordination to language ability. The curriculum provides an environment to encourage self-help skills enrich language development develop thinking and problem-solving skills and promote self-esteem. The curriculum outline is on file in the director’s office and available for review. A fenced playground especially designed for the preschool child is available for all children during their outside play period.
As soon as the children can accomplish simple craft making or artwork the teachers include such an activity as part of the day.
As a matter of policy Children’s Day Out continually reevaluates and updates its approach to early childhood education in order to provide your child the full benefits of new research.
