The school’s Mission is at the core of each step of our curriculum planning and design process. The scope and sequence of the curriculum are rooted in placing ALL of our students on a college preparatory track. The lessons and units we teach students are the academic skills addressed in our standards based curriculum. These include elements of the Common Core State Standards, the Common Core State Standards, English as a second language standards (WIDA Language Standards) using an ESL model for elementary and secondary levels, daily activities, unit assessments, and formal assessments including various norm referenced tests to benchmark and measure the growth of our students.
These expectations emphasize the disciplined and rigorous intellectual habits of high school readiness and our core values (PRIDE) one must commit to in order to climb that mountain to and through college. Additionally, we illuminate and consistently implement behavior standards, in alignment with our core values and curriculum for behavior and ethics that elevate the character of each of us and strengthen our sense of team and family at Pioneer Charter.
