We are in our tenth exciting year of educating three to five year olds.
Our program is one in which we incorporate a traditional nursery school curriculum with an open door policy to whoever seeks us out. Our philosophy is that a child learns best in an environment in which he/she can succeed. The role of the staff is to provide an appropriate learning environment for each child. Appropriate, daily activities are prepared for children in the areas of fine motor, gross motor, cognitive, social, emotional, creativity, music and language.
We run four different sessions, two or three days a week that are 3 and 2 1/2 hours in length. Our schedule is concurrent with the Detroit Lakes public school district schedule. The total number of children accepted in each session is fourteen with a ratio of two teachers. The program is licensed through the state of Minnesota, Department of Human Services.
Tuition is collected on a monthly basis and is 5135.00 a month for three times a week or $85.00 a month for two times a week. There is a registration fee of $50.00 at the time of enrollment. Children must be three years old by September and potty trained to enroll. This is a half-day preschool program offering a traditional curriculum. The philosophy of the program is that a child learns best in an environment in which he/she can succeed. The role of the staff is to provide an appropriate learning environment for each child. Although there is no specific Christian curriculum used, we do incorporate Christian beliefs/teachings throughout the year.
Children will be provided with activities that are both quiet and active, teacher directed and child initiated. Activities to be used will require the use of varied equipment and materials.
