I believe that every child is a gift from God. Each child is unique and deserves to be treated as an individual. I believe that every child learns at his or her own pace.

I believe every child deserves the right to develop and grow in a loving and nurturing environment. Close personal relationships are the solution. Through these relationships children develop a sense of security and are provided a positive foundation for their self-esteem and concept. They also learn social concepts of loving and interacting with others. When the environment is positive and trusting it allows the child the freedom to learn and be given the support and attention he or she needs and desires.

I believe that providing quality child care means maintaining a parent-provider partnership where communication is essential. I recognize that families are the most important social agent in a childs life. In the best interest of the child I feel communication and support from parents is fundamental. Parents need to know they can come and go in the daycare above that they need to know that they are welcome and that their concerns and questions can and will be addressed. Daily information is important but in the long run a general knowledge of the family and home life helps to gain an understanding and provide better individualized care.

I believe the atmosphere of the setting is the most significant aspect. Children are learning all day long. Curriculum should be flexible and extend beyond a project or time period. It is crucial that above all the activity and curriculum is developmentally appropriate. Concepts goals and expectations should be individual with the child in mind. I believe that no matter the topic activity/project or theme it can be adapted or altered to meet the childs need or level.
I believe above all the safety of the children in my care is my top priority. When the children are safe and secure they are allowed the freedom to learn through exploring the world around them.
