The Education Development & Transition (0-36 months) Service Area adopted a core curriculum with a bilingual bicultural approach which focuses on building relationships between teaching staff infant toddlers and their families. The Creative Curriculum guides the primary caregiver to enhance the four developmental areas for each child through positive experiences in their daily interactions. This approach is based on the philosophy that they thrive and flourish in an active loving and caring environment which supports the parents role as the principal nurturers of their childs development. The Early Head Start classroom environments are age/developmentally appropriate and support the interest temperament culture language and developmental level of each child. Infants toddlers and two year olds are observed in the context of everyday routines and experiences and teaching staff track and report the childs progress through a screener and assessment tool. Each childs transition is well planned to assure a smooth transition from infancy to preschooler.
