The primary goal of our Pre-Kindergarten program at Gerstell Academy is to promote enjoyment of the school experience while nurturing intellectual, social, physical and emotional growth. Encouraging independence within a framework of well-defined routines, teachers urge children to explore, experiment, question, and discover.
Thematic learning experiences focus on process rather than product and includes imaginary play, writing, listening, speaking, math, science, construction, art, cooking, music, and physical education. The bright and open physical space in Pre-K is an exciting and safe place for children to learn and grow. Leadership Circle, Falcon Friends, the Reading Buddy Program, and special events bring our youngest students together with all members of our student body. The Gerstell leadership curriculum begins with our Pre-K students as we nurture and promote courtesy, respect, kindness and fairness into all aspects of our school day.- Child Ages:

The Gerstell Academy Lower School Athletic Program is structured to enhance the leadership program and give students an opportunity to develop and test leadership skills, teamwork, and to provide a venue for physical fitness. Lower School athletics foster an environment in which children are able to grow and to learn how to reach their full potential emotionally, intellectually, socially and physically while stressing the importance of a solid base of fundamental skill sets. Our Lower School program gives the students the opportunity to participate in extracurricular, athletic activities while assuring quality coaching and leadership training in line with the Gerstell Academy Principles, Attributes and Motto.
Gerstell Academy Lower School students are encouraged to vary their athletic experience as well as to participate on travel and recreation teams outside of Gerstell. This gives our student-athletes the unique opportunity to take their leadership experiences to the community outside of Gerstell and to " lead by example."
