Our preschool program uses Creative Curriculum. This program was developed using research and leading theories of early childhood education and development. It has been shown to promote the cognitive language social/emotional and physical development of young children. The assessment instruments offered by this curriculum meet all of the standards of the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). There are five components to the framework and our staff use these components as a blueprint for developing developmentally appropriate activities. All lessons offer children the opportunity to learn and practice newly acquired skills. The 11 interest areas and process skills children use to learn in the classroom follow national and state standards for six content areasLiteracy Math Science Social Studies the Arts and Technology. Every child is unique and we use the curriculum tools to observe and track our childrens progress. We create a classroom community where children learn how to get along and solve problems peacefully. Careful observation by teachers leads to individual and group instructional strategies that guide our childrens learning. We strive to develop family partnerships because working together supports childrens optimal development and learning.
