At Oak Tree we provide a high quality program in a safe nurturing environment that provides for the social physical emotional and cognitive development of our students. We are concerned with providing our students with a strong foundation that will provide a basis for more formal scholastic learning in successive grade levels. Our curriculum integrates developmentally appropriate learning experiences through theme teaching. We provide students with the skills to become goal-oriented rather than performance-oriented learners. We emphasize socialization and problem-solving skills.
At Oak Tree we believe that each child is a unique individual and as such students progress should be measured by their successes and strengths. We use the portfolio method of assessment. The portfolio is a window into the classroom and can consist of observations inventories work samples photographs parental input and anecdotal records.
We believe that parents must be an integral part of their childs educational process. Our families and teachers work as a team to help each child reach his or her potential. Good communication between home and school is a vital link in our program.
