The Illinois Quality Rating System (QRS) is a voluntary system that offers progressive levels which child care providers can achieve depending on the type of care they provide. Specific quality criteria must be met to achieve a level and Growth is proud to have achieved a QRS Star Level 2 in May of 2009. Because of this accomplishment, Growth has been recognized by the State of Illinois for committing to provide high quality care.
Growth’s program is designed to offer your child a warm and nurturing environment in which he/she is able to learn, grow and feel good about himself/herself. As we lend a helping hand to working families, we strive to provide a variety of opportunities for young children.
Growth has a dedicated staff with experience and training in early childhood education. In addition to degree requirements, each staff member must have 15 hours of continuing education training yearlyluding CPR and First Aid certification. Child to staff ratios meet or exceed DCFS (Department of Children & Family Services) licensing standards in each classroom.
Our teachers are required to turn in weekly lesson plans based on the center’s curriculum topics. These daily lesson plans cover all components of early childhood education including art, math, science, language, music, fine motor skills, gross motor skills, dramatic play, and open centers to explore at the child’s own pace.

The most important goal of Growth’s early childhood curriculum is to help children becomes enthusiastic learners. This means encouraging children to be active and creative explorers who are not afraid to try out their ideas and to think their own thoughts. Growth’s goal is to help children become independent, self-confident, inquisitive learners. We are teaching your children how to learn, not just in preschool, but all through their lives. We are allowing them to learn at their own pace and in ways that are best for them. We’re giving them good habits and attitudes, particuarly a positive sense of themselves, which will make a difference throughout their lives.
Growth’s Creative Curriculum identifies goals in all areas of development
Social: To help children feel comfortable in school, trust their new environment, make friends, and feel they are part of a group.
Emotional: To help children experience pride and self-confidence, develop independence and self-control, and to have a positive attitude toward life.
Cognitive: To help children become confident learners by letting them try out their own ideas and experience success, and by helping them acquire learning skills such as the ability to solve problems, ask questions, and use words to descibe their ideas, observations, and feelings.
Physical: To help children increase their large and small muscle skills and feel confident about what their bodies can do.
The activities we plan for the children, the way we organize the environment, select toys and materials, plan the daily schedule, and talk with children are all designed to accomplish the goals of our curriculum and give your child a successful start in school.
