The mission of the Community Education Department is to deliver high quality, educational, cultural, and recreational enrichment programs and services to our
community using aligned resources beyond the school day.
All children must be potty trained prior to enrolling. Preschool is for children age 3 as of August 31st of the current school year.
Pre-Kindergarten is for children age 4 as of August 31st. Children reaching age 3 or 4 between September 1st and October 31st may be
enrolled into a program with openings once they reach their birthday. Children turning the appropriate age on or after November 1st may be enrolled
into a program with openings, upon assessment by the classroom instructor. A student enrolled in pre-kindergarten who has turned 4
after September 1st is not eligible for kindergarten the following year. DVUSD policy requires all students to be age 5
prior to September 1st of the current school year.

Our programs assist children 3, 4, & 5 years old to grow academically, intellectually, socially and emotionally. They are designed to promote enjoyment through work and play, refine gross and fine motor skills, promote physical coordination and encourage creativity and development.
