Golden Recreation Preschool

The Golden Community Center strives to offer a safe, creative place for children between the ages of 3 and 5 to learn and grow. The Community Center preschool program is designed to foster intellectual, social, emotional and physical growth in each child through play and personal attention.

The preschool program achieved a 4-star Qualistar rating in 2009, the highest rating available from Qualistar Colorado. To achieve the 4-star rating, the Golden Community Center Preschool had to meet certain quality component areas including readiness skills, family resources and training, qualified staff and professional development and appropriate staff-to-student ratio of 1:10 or less. The preschool program is now working on a NAEYC (National Association for the Education of Young Children) Accreditation.

The Golden Community Center Preschool Program utilizes the Preschool Observation Checklist & Evaluation Tool (POCET) Program, the Jefferson County Public Schools benchmarks & standards, and the National Association for the Education of Young Childrens (NAEYC) Developmentally Appropriate Practices. The program director is certified and the program is licensed by the State of Colorado Department of Human Services.
