To create a warm learning environment that stimulates creativity and produces an atmosphere conducive to developing a positive self-image for each child. Our Program has enough structure to provide security but enough freedom so that the child can explore develop and grow emotionally socially physically and intellectually.

We currently have openings in our AM and PM three year old program and in our Pre-K program.
Mayflower Preschool has been NAEYC Accredited since 1993. This involved going through an extensive self-study process measuring the program and its services against the ten NAEYC Early Childhood Program Standards and more than 400 related Accreditation Criteria. The National Association for the Education of Young Children administers the largest and most widely recognized accreditation system for young children.

Mayflower Preschool Program Goals:
1. Bridge the separation between home and school.
2. Develop a positive attitude toward school and learning.
3. Develop citizenship skills through modeling positive character traits.
4. Develop cognitive skills which will foster continued learning.
5. Develop problem-solving strategies.
6. Develop self-control initiative and independence.
7. Gain self-confidence and a positive self-image.
8. Experience activities involving large and small motor skills.
9. Learn to accept and follow directions and assume responsibilities.
10. Learn basic safety rules and good health practices.
11. Learn to use materials freely and creatively.

All classes implement a curriculum that includes experiences for physical social emotional and intellectual development. All classes provide activities that are: both quiet and active; for individual small and large group; for large and small muscle development; both child-initiated and teacher initiated; and for skills in language math and science. All classes offer Hand Writing Without Tears.
