West Leonard Early Childhood Center

PRESCHOOL – FOOD SERVICE – TRANSPORTATION West Leonard Early Childhood Center recognizes that
children are individuals with a variety of developmental levels diverse cultural backgrounds and a wide
spectrum of potentials and needs. We accept the responsibility to provide an atmosphere and environment in partnership with parents
and the community: that is child-centered and that will build critical thinking skills develop positive selfconcepts and facilitate independence in all children
The center has five Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) rooms and one Great Start Readiness (GSRP) room. West Leonard houses one of the two Special Educational Diagnostic Centers for Grand Rapids Public that provides assessments for your
children 3-5 years of age suspected of having an educational disability. Each room
has a teacher paraprofessional and support staff members (including speech occupational therapy physical therapy school
psychologist school social worker and teacher consultant.)
