Capital Area Community Services Inc. Head Start and Early Childhood Programs in partnership with the community and participating families is dedicated to creating a comprehensive culturally sensitive nurturing safe and healthy learning environment in which children families and staff are inspired to reach their fullest potential.

CACS Head Start is a comprehensive preschool program serving low income children ages birth to 5 years old. We serve 1617 children in Ingham Eaton Clinton and Shiawassee counties each year. Head Starts mission is to meet childrens needs so all are on a path for school success.

*Recruit children already diagnosed with special needs
*Help identify children who may have developmental delays
*Initiate and track referrals for children who need further evaluation
*Work with school districts to ensure special education services are provided
