SonShine ECC has adopted the HighScope curriculum, which is based on the belief that young children build or “construct” their knowledge of the world. This means learning is not simply a process of adults giving information to children. Rather, children actively participate in their learning by pursuing their interests. We feel children learn best when they discover things through direct experiences with people, objects, events, and ideas while being supported and challenged by adults. This approach allows for meaningful connections to the world around them.
