Children are lifelong learners. We want your children to grow into individuals who love learning. We are conscious of each of the children’s learning styles. This ensures that children are learning in their own way and in their own time which makes learning fulfilling instead of “work”. Our teachers encourage children to respect diversity, responsibility, problem solving, develop motor skills, foster a positive identity and express creativity.

Testimonials

Jennifer Schuman

Our son has been at The Learning Tree for two years from the toddler room thorough to the preschool room. As a parent, I am fully confident that he is in a very nurturing and positive learning environment. The facility is very secure and safe which every parent can appreciate. Everyone from the Director to the teachers to the assistants know each of the children by name and their families. They work with us to teach our son rules, boundaries, respect for others, and healthy expression of emotions. He comes home happy. Our son eats nutritious, organic foods every day, there is a lesson plan for every week, he gets adequate rest, and he participates in extra activities such as gymnastics and soccer. We get an email every day from his teachers telling us all that the kids did for the day- its wonderful. I could not be more grateful for this amazing place and the people who are committed to my child's growth and happiness.

We love The Learning Tree! Our son has been there for 3 years now, and absolutely loves going to school. The staff is wonderful, and completely understand when I call during the day just to check in. Between the great staff, and the organic menu, and the curriculum we would not choose any place else!

Christina Long

The meals that are provided by the school. High quality, healthy food. No processed junk, which made me very happy. The building was all shiny and new, with a super fun playground with splash pad. They have fun activities for the entire family throughout the year. At the time we were there, I liked the security of having a fingerprint scanner to unlock the door to get in. I also kind of liked the daily emails about what the classroom was doing that day.

First the bad. It's expensive. It's about $1000 a month full time. However, you get a lot for the money. The facility is very big, clean, and new. It's set up like small school. Each child has a homeroom based mostly on age. There are also some activity rooms with lots of fun stuff for the children to play on and with outside of the books, toys, etc. in the homerooms. They learn songs, have story time, and I believe most of the staff if not all have early childhood degree's. The food that is served is all organic. A menu is provided each month, so you know what's being served and they provide hot food. They have a state of the art playground. It's all on a rubberized surface like a running track, which reduces injuries from falls. Part of the playground is like a waterpark during the summer. There are metal structures that spray water for the kids to run through and cool off along with other water based activity tables (for lack of a better word). Security it high. The playground is fenced in and the building requires a code to enter the doors and there is a kiosk near the door to sign your child in and out which is also password protected. Lastly they also do a lot of crafts so there are always things to bring home to display. The only TV is near the office and displays photos of the children playing. The only suggestion I would make is that for the price it would be nice if there was a camera system you could log into externally to check up on your kid during the day to see what kind of fun they're having like some daycare's have.

Megan Klei

What a wonderful place. The staff is all very friendly and great with the kids. The food is top notch!

Nick Altrock

Reassurance of our childrens' safety and happiness are realized daily by listening to their accounts each day.

Renae L

We have been sending our daughter her for the past 2 years. She has been in both the infant and toddler program. We appreciate that the teachers are extremely caring and vested in the children. We love the fact that we know that our daughter will be getting healthy meals and snacks, has a schedule each day for reading, art and play, and has made great friends there. The extras that the Learning Tree has throughout the year, such as holiday parties, parent nights out and parent breakfasts are just added bonuses to an already great program.

Monique Arsneault

It's a decent daycare.

Jill DeCelle

Good reputation. Loving and thoughtful staff, for the most part. Accommodating and will work with your schedule.

Amelia Gotwals

The teachers are very committed and caring. They serve wonderful food. I am very impressed with the facilities as well.

LOVE Learning Tree! The teachers are wonderful and the office staff is great - have never had an issue and have been with them for almost three years. The field trips for school age kids are fun and parents can attend if they like (you meet the group at the location). Highly recommend!!

Excellent facilities, caring staff, great educational programs. Highly recommend!

They are all so wonderful with the kids and stick to organic food so you can be confident your child is in good hands!

The Learning Tree - Howell is a wonderful facility where I thoroughly entrust the well-being of my child on a daily basis. They are staffed with caring, responsible individuals who truly build a loving, supportive relationship with your child. They prioritize the safety and health of all their kids, and it shows in their classroom set-ups, materials, procedures, playground, and the meal plans. No mom enjoys having to leave their child all day long in the hands of another individual, but since bringing my daughter here, I at least don't worry about her! And that's a huge relief!!

My two children have been at The Learning Tree in Howell for the last few years. I love that when I drop off my children in the morning, I know they are in a safe and nuturing environment filled with great learning experiences all day long! I highly recommend The Learning Tree!!

verified current parent

All staff is very caring and kind, and they know all parents, even if your child is not in their room. They also offer a 'date night' every couple of months. This may seem small, but they don't charge for it and they feed them dinner and have them in their PJs to go home! And we don't have to worry our daughter is with someone she doesn't know or like...she's with her friends, playing! I was drawn to the healthier aspect of Learning Tree, but it's the people that make it a place to highly recommend.

The level of service in all aspects is top notch. From the caring and attentive teaching staff to the cleanliness and security of the building and the organic meals provided, I feel my child is truly in the best learning environment around.

A year and a half ago we had to change daycare facilities due to our daughter starting school. Learning Tree provided the atmosphere and learning environment that was closest to our previous provider. On my son's first day the plan was to leave him for only a few hours. After calling to check on him several times it was clear he was having a blast and adjusting wonderfully. He stayed the entire day and has been happy to go to " school "everyday since. The center is focused on the children in every aspect from organic eating, to education, manners, and fun play. My daughter also attended the summer camp this past year and had a fantastic time. Learning Tree is a great choice for your child and family.

This is our first year at The Learning Tree and it has been such a great experience. Our children love going to school and love their teachers. The staff is wonderful and they have the kids learning and participating in so many creative activities. The food is all organic and so healthy. We love the classrooms, outdoor play areas, and daily emails to update us on what was done in class that day! This is definitely a place you will feel comfortable taking your children.

The Learning Tree has been a great start for my son before he heads off to kindergarten next year. The director and assistant director are very involved in the day to day running of the center, and the teachers really get to know each of their kids in the class. Miss Jennifer in the Preschool room did a great job helping my son overcome his shyness and start interacting with his class. Miss Tracey in PreKindergarten continues to help him learn and grow, and he's always got a new story to share about what exciting things they did in class that day.

After searching many care facilities we decided to go with the Learning Tree. We have never looked back. The environment is fun, safe and friendly and my children love it there. There is open communication and the staff all know who we are. I would highly recommend The Learning Tree to anyone!

Our son has been at the learning tree since he was 9 months old. He is now 2 years old and he loves "school". His vocabulary is outstanding and he knows his ABCs and can count to 10. We are so pleased with the learning tree that even though we moved we have kept him in this daycare.

Our children enjoy going to the Learning Tree, and we live the friendly, educational atmosphere.

As a first time mom, I am thrilled with the Learning Tree in Howell. The Teachers are very helpful during all stages that the infants go through. They have had experience with all sorts of parents and children and have been able to personally recommend tips for new stages my daughter is going through. It takes a village, and since I have to work, and can not be at home...I couldn't find a better "village" in a daycare to help raise my baby:)

We love the learning tree. They are constantly going above and beyond with special events for the kids. The food that they serve is healthy and delicious. I would recommend them to anyone looking for daycare.

The program, teachers, and food is awesome. The director is the nicest person, however, there is one assistant director who you might avoid at all time!

If you're looking for an honest care facility that is always improving their selves, this the the place :)

Being both new to the area and first-time parents, my wife and I were very nervous and cautious about selecting a day care facility for our daughter. We toured a number of facilities in the Howell area, and all seemed just fine, but I'm afraid that none compared to the first impression we had while the Assistant Director, Beth, gave us a tour of The Learning Tree, in our view it was clearly the best choice. The Learning Tree has been caring for our daughter for nearly a year now, and we continue to be impressed by all aspects of the organization. From the security of the facility, to the consistent, open, honest communication from the entire staff of caring, nurturing, and knowledgeable child care professionals, we have not had a single complaint with this excellent organization. When she was just a few months old, we discovered that our daughter was born with a birth defect which seriously limited her ability to use her left arm, and that she would be required to undergo physical and occupational therapy twice every week. We were obviously saddened and concerned that our little baby girl would have to undergo such extensive treatment, but several months have passed since the diagnosis, and she is doing wonderfully, thanks largely to the assistance, guidance, direction, and communiction provided by the wonderful teachers at The Learning Tree. Miss Brittany, Miss Stacy, Miss Taylor, and Miss Alex have been absolutely crucial in the incredible developmental progress that our daughter is making, and we can't thank them enough. My wife and I cannot sufficiently express our appreciation of the immeasurable quality of care provided by everyone at The Learning Tree. From the incredible directorial staff, Miss Alyssa, Miss Beth, and Miss Hillary, to the two wonderful teachers who care for our daughter every day, Miss Brittany and Miss Stacy, I can't possibly imagine an child care organization more deserving of a recommendation.

I really like the staff at the Learning Tree and my 2 year old daughter Josie does too! The fact that they serve breakfast and lunch along with snacks; are open until 6:30 for pick up, and provide really great activities for the kids and parents make The Learning Tree (Howell) an easy choice for my family.

The entire staff are extremely friendly and they truly care about your child. They have a great curriculum for preschoolers and classrooms are set-up very much like a kindergarten classroom. We love their healthy menus for lunch and snack. The summer camp program for school age kids is also wonderful. We would highly recommend The Learning Tree in Howell.

The Learning Tree-Howell is great place for children to grow.

We have been with The Learning Tree since my son was 3 months old he is now 9. We have used many of their locations as our family changed and moved there was always a Learning Tree location that helped us in our transition. Now that my son is older he is in the school age program which is wonderful for our 2 parent working family. The Learning Tree drives my son to school and picks him up each day, and during the summer months he participates in the summer day camp program. This allows him to go on 4 field trips per week which is a lot more then he would do staying at home with a sitter. I would and have recommended The Learning Tree to anyone looking for child care.

Not only does The Learning Free have one of the newest, top-of-the-line facilities in the area, but they also have some of the best, most caring and qualified staffs as well. The building is secure via fingerprint scanner, the largely organic food is made on site by a cook who gets to know the kids and care about their likes and dislikes, and playtime is not only safe but also conducive to learning. My daughter loved her teacher and talks constantly about how her as of yet unborn sibling will get to go enjoy the experiences she had there. Other great things: Parent Date Night, holiday celebrations, birthday cooking projects, book fair, and field trips for the older kids.

My son has excelled since attending the Learning Tree! His manners and eating habits have significantly improved and his vocabulary is growing by leaps and bounds. As a parent the food selection and learning curriculum were important; my son has learned to communicate in Spanish and using sign language.

Excellent organization. Management is top notch. Very flexible and the staff is fantastic! Very happy with the service they provide.

The Learning Tree is an excellent value as 3 healthy, organic meals plus snacks are included in tuition. Not to mention, the safety measures implemented in building security with fingerprint scan/code access, computer coded sign-in/out, a built in splash pad and safe playgrounds the kids love! The teachers are caring and qualified individuals that give time to each student. The learning our son has experienced including numbers, letters/word recognition and even astronomy is evident since he has been attending The Learning Tree in Howell. These are just the highlights, but also very appreciated are the occasional date nights provided until 9:30pm at no charge!

My husband and I were new to the Howell area when we had our son. We looked at several daycares, thinking we wanted an in-home because of other experiences we have heard. We looked at a few in-home and daycare centers. We were not thrilled with any, some were scary! We saw the Learning Tree last and knew immediately it was the one! It was truly a blessing! Their outside is amazing-and the fact they go outside everyday was perfect for our baby--he loves the outdoors. Our son has been going there for 3 years now. We have had some ups and downs with teachers, losing of things, biting, accidents--but I think that is to be expected for the most part. The high staff turnover is disappointing, of the dozens of teachers and assistants he has had over 3 years I think only one is still there-and she started a couple of months after he did! This is communicated poorly, one day you see a teacher, then "poof", never again! They could communicate these changes better. It is an uneasy feeling when you don't know the person in your child's room. As a parent it is difficult to trust someone else with your child, but TLT has been great. It seems very safe and state-of-the-art. I love the healthy food they serve, too. (Better than I cook)! I will say I have seen some of their customer service decrease over the years as they have grown, but overall everyone is very nice and my son is learning & having fun. If you are looking for a great daycare center, I don't think you could find a better one!

I value The Learning Tree - Howell's dedication to my children's academic growth, as well as their social, emotional and physical health. I would highly recommend LTH to any parent!

The staff was always curtious and pleasant to work with for the care and education of my Grand-daughter. We are very particular about her surroundings and who is able to watch her. I would highly recommend The Learning Tree in Howell to resident Mom's that may be seeking care for their children. Nana Simons

The staff is very welcoming to children, and they take great care in ensuring the wellness and experience of daycare. The teachers in the classroom pay particular attention to each child, and knows behaviors, pros, cons and the experience the children have each day they are at the facility.

We have been a Learning Tree family for 3 years and we love them. They offer a great school age program and day camp, which has introduced my daughter to new friends and interests (including rock climbing!). We also appreciate their healthy food services and policies that manage my toddler's dangerous food allergies. It's very difficult to put your child's care in someone else's hands, especially when they have special dietary needs, however I'm 100% confident in Learning Tree. They're like an extension of our own family. Our family has learned that it really does "take a village" and Learning Tree is part of our village.

We are extremely happy with The Learning Tree in Howell. My daughter's teachers are Miss Brittany and Miss Stacey and I cannot compliment them enough. They are bundles of energy that have the most creative ideas to make each new day special. My daughter loves attending their class and I love to hear about her progress. We are so happy with every aspect of The Learning Tree!

The staff is wonderful, so friendly and helpful. It amazes me how they know every single child's name. The way they teach the little ones has been so well thought out from learning manner at the table eating (not to mention the great organic food)to all the educational programs. I highly recommend the Learning Tree, your children will love going and you will feel confident in the care your children are receiving.

The learning tree has been a great and positive experience for both of my children. We trust that our children are safe and taken care of each day we drop them off. They have learned things at The Learning a Tree that we couldn't have taught them at home.

Great experience and my godson is not an easy kid. They always seemed welcoming and supportive of his needs. I work for Howell Schools and recommend them to my parents all the time. Thanks

The Learning Tree has been the learning center that all other centers should strive to be like! The teachers there are amazing, the meals the children receive are all organic, the play structures outside are top of the line, the family activities that are scheduled are so well done! The Learning Tree kept a portfolio of my daughter's strengths and weakness the entire 3 yrs she attended! I know my daughter is more capable of handling pre-k than most kids her age because of the curriculum and attention she received at The Learning Tree!

verified current parent

It was very well organized. The directors had great communication with parents. It's a beautiful facility and there were multiple rooms for children to engage in activities throughout the day. I appreciated that it never felt loud and chaotic when I was there - it's calm and structured, but still fun.

Great facility and great teachers! My son looks forward to going there.

We were part of the Learning Tree Family for almost 2 years until we decided to have our 3rd child and now I stay home. We loved the Learning Tree. We toured every child care center in Howell and most in Brighton and none even come close to the Learning Tree. The teachers are kind and caring and the staff and directors treat everyone with kindness and respect. I was most impressed that the Regional Director, Karen emailed and stayed in touch with the families. I truly felt like the safety and happiness of my 2 month old and 2 year old were number one priority to each person there. I often joke that my children ate better and healthier at the Learning Tree than they do at home with me. All organic food, fresh lunches and snacks. Green cleaning products and toys, the list goes on and on how the Learning Tree goes above and beyond every child care center in this area. Especially for a new mom having to leave her baby for the first time, take it from someone who knows how hard that transition is, the Learning Tree will provide great care for your baby and peace of mind for you.

I love the Learning tree for my childs daycare needs. They are safe, clean, have good learning programs, and HEALTHY FOOD! A prior daycare kept feeding my children sugary foods like poptarts for breakfast and canned fruits and veggies. Learning tree is mainly whole grain, lower sugar and fresh fruit/veggies. Staff is kind. must list cons though: Expensive! Especially in summer for near school aged kids. They take field trips which is cool, but charge a lot for that, and you have no choice. My children should be cheaper as they get older. Also I was on a flex schedule and at some point was told even with ample notice my schedule was considered last and there may not be room..? So I was forced to go full time in fear of being caught without daycare, when I may only work 3 days/week sometimes. Not flexible with food. My son wasnt eating breakfast on egg days and then went to school hungry. Not allowed to send in anything even if nut free, or not offered another kitchen choice. As much as they charge, caregivers get close to minimum wage which sucks, but I guess it is Commom for daycares. Oh and hours are 630am-630pm which was important for our work schedules and then they started enforcing if your child is there greater than 10hours its like $10/hour upcharge. So that means you cant really utilize those hours if needed. So beware of some of the inconveniences. Not to say Im not happy overall with care. It is kind, safe, educational, and healthy. Just a pain in my a$##^! At times.
