The Doris Mechanick Center consists of two State Funded programs. The center has a State Preschool program and a Child Development Program. Both programs are designed for the enrichment, and education of the children.
The State Preschool consists of two- three hour sessions (9:00-12:00 and 1:00-4:00). These sessions are funded through the State of California and are OPEN FOR ENROLLMENT during the summer months. After classes begin in September enrollment is based on family size and income. The families go on a Centralized Eligibility List (CEL) until they are called for enrollment. The Child Development Program is an all day state funded program. The California Education Code-Section 8227(e)(1) states that to be eligible to enter into agreement with the State subsidized program, the contractor shat participate in and use the Centralized Eligibility List (CEL). The CEL utilizes eligible families that are waiting to be placed on the program. Once the family is up for enrollment, the family will be called and an appointment will be set up. Some families may have to pay a family fee based on the Child Care and Development Family Fee Schedule set forth by the State of California.Want more information?
