According to the developmental philosophy of Good Shepherd Preschool, children are presented with academic concepts through the exposure of shapes, colors, numbers and letters at the developmentally appropriate time frames. Each session of children is divided into classes with each teacher having her own small group in order to provide a low teacher/student ratio. These small groups are divided according to the childs age and individual development. Curriculum is then planned by the teachers to meet the developmental needs of each small group. Our goal is for every child to experience success.The staff is composed of professional teachers trained in Early Childhood Education. Each teacher receives on-site training, paid planning time, attends frequent workshops, is CPR/First Aid certified, and maintains memberships in professional organizations.
Our school became the first Preschool in Orange County to be accredited by the National Accreditation Commission thru NACCP. Parents are an integral part of Good Shepherd Preschool and may participate as volunteers. Our parent group, the Good Shepherd Parent Organization(GSPO), organizes fundraising events so that parents can participate in their childs school and share their talents and support. We have an open door visitation policy. Parents are asked, however, to check in with the office so that name tags can be given. The staff, therefore, is aware that visitors have permission to be on the premises.
