Rainbow Academy was founded as a family-owned business in 1997 by Guy & Julia Falzarano. While running their first childcare center, they experienced first-hand the stresses that working parents faced while trying to balance their work and life. In an effort to more fully support them, programs and services were developed. The importance of balancing the needs of parents and children became a cornerstone of their business model.
The Falzarano’s also know that family is so much more than something youre born into. They see it as a blessing to be protected and nurtured. Hundreds of extended family members are included in their Circle of Care – parents, children, employees and franchisees are nurtured on a foundation of strong family values.
Many members of the Falzarano family currently work in the company on a corporate and center level. The Falzarano family also continues to grow within the Rainbow Academy childcare centers with two grandchildren recently graduating and the youngest grandchild currently enrolled in one of the centers.

Our Nursery or Early Preschool curriculum incorporates the first steps necessary to prepare children for preschool, kindergarten and beyond! This program begins moving from child care toward a more structured educational format in preparation for preschool as children expand their ability to sit and listen for longer periods of time.
The Seedlings Early Childhood Education Program includes a preschool curriculum, with enrichment programs for Reading Readiness, Spanish, Sign Language and Musical Beginnings. It incorporates key elements from the Creative Curriculum for Preschool (approved by New Jersey Dept. of Education) which focuses on intentional teaching through small group interactions.
Lesson plans are designed to address each of the developmental areas including: Sensory & Perception, Personal & Social, Creativity & Arts, Physical, Cognitive, and Language & Communication.
The American Sign Language program is continued and advances your childs language development. Two-year old children often use sign language simultaneously with speech to express their thoughts and feelings.
Classrooms are centerbased learning environments. Children move through these areas as they explore, discover and expand their interests. Examples of some areas are: Dramatic Play Center, Family Center, Transportation Center, Building Center, Reading Center and Computer Center. These learning areas are filled with fun and age-appropriate puzzles, manipulatives, games and toys.
Learning is not just limited to the classroom. Rainbow Academy facilities have large outdoor playgrounds and often indoor gyms for little ones to run, jump and slide their way to physical fitness and gross motor skill development.
It may look like childs play to you, but theres a lot of work going on behind the scenes! Social development advances while critical thinking and rationalization skills become more sophisticated. Stimulating and fun activities are used to develop a life-long love of learning.
