amcab provides several preschool programs in Alger and Marquette counties in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. The programs include: Head Start Early Head Start and Childcare Partnership all funded through the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. We also provide the Michigan School Readiness Program that is funded by the Michigan Department of Education. amcab has several classrooms located throughout both counties.

amcab Head Start believes in providing a developmentally appropriate curriculum for three and four year old children that includes child-initiated activities enhanced through social-emotional development. amcab strives to enhance the school-readiness for all Head Start children based on the High Scope curriculum through early literacy music and movement as well as science and math activities. Other critical components of the program are family involvement parent education proper nutritional experiences and health services.
