PRESCHOOL – BEFORE/AFTER SCHOOL – INFANT/TODDLER –
With the support of families and the community BCDC will provide a safe and nurturing environment that promotes the physical social emotional and cognitive development of children ages 6 weeks through 12 years old. We are dedicated to provide a safe clean stimulating environment to all of our children.
Bedford Child Development Center is a state licensed facility able to care up to 45 children. Our center was designed for optimal safety. The front and back doors are locked at all times. Parents and visitors to the center must ring a bell in order to enter the facility.
The staff at Bedford Child Development Center is made up of trained professionals in Early Childhood Education. All staff members are certified in Infant Child and Adult CPR as well as First Aid. Annual training is required for all staff members. Staff members also are trained in Blood Borne Pathogens. All staff members of Bedford Child Development Center are required to submit to a background check performed by the State of Michigan Police Department.

Bedford Child Development Center is a developmentally based child care center. We believe that children learn best through their experiences. We are a play based center and we believe that children’s play is a primary vehicle for their growth and development. Play enables children to progress along a developmental sequence of growth. Therefore a child-initiated child-directed teacher supported curriculum is an essential component of our program.
In order to meet the needs of the developing child and provide quality care BCDC strives to:
Provide a healthy and safe environment as well as a secure comfortable enjoyable and responsive environment for children to learn and grow;
Respect accept and appreciate each child and family;
Provide learning opportunities designed to promote the total growth and development of each child;
Encourage each child’s independence autonomy and self-discipline; and
Maintain an environment free of racial or sexual role bias stereotype or prejudice.
