Our mission is to have all of our students master grade level standards in all core subjects in a safe, friendly, and supportive environment focusing on reading fluency, reading comprehension, vocabulary development, and basic skills in mathematics. To realize this goal and to supplement the core language arts curriculum, we have a built-in ExCEL/UA intervention structure in grades K-5 during the school day, where students are grouped by their instructional level in language arts. These students switch classes each day for an hour, so they can receive intensive direct instruction in order to help remediate and build their language arts skills.
