We believe that learning (see our curriculum) is a continual, constructive and reciprocal relationship involving the child, their peers, the environment, teachers and families. We challenge your child’s imagination and encourage self-exploration in a happy and secure environment where your child will thrive.
Our primary goal is to guide a child’s natural curiosity by providing an environment the child will find to be both exciting and caring. Our curriculum is designed with the developmental needs of each age group in mind. Our teachers will help your child to playfully interact with a variety of learning materials, as well as with an equally exciting group of peers. Our classrooms are equipped with several learning centers specifically designed and equipped for children 2 to 5 years old.
In our K2 through K5 classes we use the A Beka curriculum which combines phonics, math, and exciting units and themes for the children. We have found this curriculum to have a back to basics approach to teaching.
A Beka Phonics, a very strong phonics-based approach to early reading instruction assures that students acquire the skills needed to decode (“sound out”) unfamiliar words in text.
A Beka Math, teaches classifying, comparing, sequencing, number recognition and writing, matching, sorting, etc., providing attractive, legible, and workable traditional mathematics. All books are up-to-date and train each child in the basic skills that they will need for latter grades.
Every child will be involved in activities, which include:
Circle Time (singing, story time, sharing) Math Center Handwriting Helpers Creative Arts Encounters Language Development Music and Movement Science/Plants/Animals Physical Development Character Development Dramatic Play CookingThroughout a child’s day at our Center the opportunities of sensory experiences, hands on activities, and exploration invite the child to have many varied opportunities that promote play, discovery, and socialization. Our rooms are bustling with teachers who are on the floor playing, talking, teaching, observing or holding children. Throughout the week, activities consist of art projects, large motor skill development in our playground, dancing, musical instruments, songs and finger plays.
