The STARS Preschool program seeks to strengthen and support the relationship between home and school by creating an educational partnership. The staff collaborates to provide a full circle of support. Teachers inform families about their childs experiences in their educational environment during the school day and parents share relevant information from activities in the childs home environment. The family plays a vital role in early childhood education and the STARS program encourages family involvement.
The program is accredited by the NAEYC Academy for Early Childhood Program Accreditation. Each NAEYC accredited program must meet all 10 of the NAEYC Early Childhood Standards. For more information about the standards and NAEYC Accreditation, visit www.rightchoiceforkids.org.

The Ledyard Public Schools STARS Preschool program is a state funded initiative to provide children of the community with early educational experiences promoting school readiness. The program is aligned with the Connecticut Preschool Curriculum Frameworks and therefore is both well balanced and developmentally appropriate. The staff encourages each child to grow and learn at his/her own pace and style.
