One of the long-standing traditions at the Rock Creek campus is Christmas at CAL. Even though it rained all day on November 3, it could not dampen the spirits of all those who attended. Whether they were participating in the silent auction, cake walk, uniform sale, and games or eating a juicy grilled hamburger, the five hundred attendees had a great time.

While the rain did hurt the attendance co-chair Erin Hartlage said, The weather actually helped both the vendors and the silent auction because people spent more time inside than they normally would, allowing more time to shop.

The $16,033 in proceeds will be used to provide much needed items for the students and teachers of Rock Creek. In the past the PTO has used these funds to purchase SMART Boards for every classroom, install a new sound system in the gym and sponsor events such as the Kindergarten Donuts with Dad and the Father Daughter Social.

Christmas at CAL takes a lot of volunteers to pull together to make it a success, but in the hectic times, we always remember to give God all the glory and keep our focus on Him says Erin. This year, the sun did not shine at Christmas at CAL, but Gods glory was shining everywhere you looked.

The faculty would like to thank the hardworking parent and student volunteers as well as the co-chairs Mrs. Hartlage and Mrs. Vornholt and the entire Rock Creek PTO.
