Preschool in Lutherville Timonium, MD 21093
Havenwood Preschool Center prepares children for transition from parental supervision to a structured school environment and for easy progression from one age-appropriate academic and developmental level to the next.
The DAY CARE program offers your children a warm and enriched environment for hours extended beyond the pre-nursery, pre-kindergarten, kindergarten, and pre-first program sessions. It is available only on the days that your child attends his or her regularly scheduled school session. Toddlers are not eligible for our Day Care.
The program is available to children on the days that they attend their regularly scheduled class from September through May. The annual calendar lists all openings, closings, holidays, events, and vacations. These coincide closely with those designated by the Baltimore County Public School System, but include a few exceptions.
The Day Care child will attend his or her appropriate pre-nursery, pre-kindergarten, kindergarten, and pre-first program class. Before and after class, he or she will be placed with the Day Care group which will be provided with varied activities, including a rest time. Each child brings his or her own lunch, and Havenwood provides the milk along with mid-morning and mid-afternoon nutritious snacks.
Tuition for all Day Care programs is due the first of the month. This fee is in addition to the tuition charged for school programs.

Havenwood Preschool Center is a licensed non-profit and non-sectarian facility which offers toddler, pre-nursery, nursery, and kindergarten programs. The kindergarten program is approved by the Maryland State Board of Education. Havenwood also provides full time, early bird, half day, and late afternoon child care. The various programs are designed to meet the needs of children between the ages of two and six years old. Havenwood classes are not in session during summer months. We do offer a summer camp for the month of June.
The philosophy of Havenwood emphasizes the uniqueness of the individual and the development of each child by providing an atmosphere in which mutual respect, support, a gentleness of the spirit, and genuine nurturing can flourish. Exposure to a multi-sensory and multi-disciplinary teaching approach allows children to develop a solid foundation upon which further learning can be built. Our goal is to create a child-centered program geared to increasing awareness, encouraging a positive self-concept, and instilling a love of learning through the child’s own creations, imagination, and thoughts. Equal importance is given to social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth. This is accomplished in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere where each member of the staff has a true love for children and the desire to open the world of knowledge to them.
