The Madison Co-op Nursery School is a state licensed, non-profit preschool. The Co-op has been established for over 50 years and remains the oldest nursery school in Madison, N.J. Our classes are staffed with 2 teachers and a participating parent.
Our philosophy is based on the individuality of each child and to provide an environment conducive to social and emotional development through creative play and hands on exploration. We provide a secure, nurturing, and caring atmosphere for children to learn self reliance and emotional maturity.

The objective of our school is to provide a stimulating and enjoyable educational environment for our students. The uniqueness and individuality of every child is recognized. Emphasis is placed on providing a secure, creative and caring atmosphere in which to guide them toward positive social interactions, emotional maturity, the ability to accept limits and tolerance and acceptance of others. The staff and parents are dedicated to helping each child reach his or her full potential intellectually, emotionally, socially and physically. In addition to varied classroom activities and educational experiences, the Co-op provides wonderful enrichment programs. Some of these exciting events include classroom exhibits from the Morris Museum, Tiny Tot Concerts and field trips.
Approach
A cooperative program is unique since both parents and teachers play an integral role in the education process. Parents participate on a rotating basis enabling them to observe and share in our learning activities and social situations. Parents involvement on the Board of Directors and various committees makes for a true school community. Most importantly however, the Co-op provides an opportunity to be part of these very special moments in their childs life.
