Here, children are encouraged to develop their natural curiosity about their world. A wide variety of materials promotes learning and imaginative play. Children build social skills while developing trust, autonomy and initiative. They make new friends and learn to resolve coNFLicts within their group. Children also learn an appreciation for the arts through active participation and experimentation in music, drama, visual art and dance.

The Preschool was opened in 1994 as an outreach of Saint Aidan’s Episcopal Church. We welcome all students regardless of race, color, religion or ethnic origin. We offer financial aid to support our commitment to diversity. We respect the diverse beliefs of our families in our Preschool and incorporate spirituality and Christian values of honesty, forgiveness, acceptance and love into the curriculum.

Our staff members are trained professionals in the field of Early Childhood Education. Each teacher possesses a bachelor’s degree and/or is certified by the state as an early childhood educator. Teachers are carefully selected for their knowledge, experience and educational background, as well as their nurturing personalities, commitment to families, integrity and dedication to Christian values.

Saint Aidan’s School uses a developmental approach to early childhood education. We encourage honesty, forgiveness, acceptance and love as the foundation for the growth of the individual. We also respect the diverse beliefs of our families in the classes and community of our school. Children are grouped homogenously by age. We recognize the value of heterogeneously grouped children, but feel that much smaller groupings or extra adults are necessary to take care of the differing needs of different ages.
