The Cedarhouse School

No matter what their personalities or individual preferences, all children are born with an insatiable inquisitiveness that allows them to learn. We believe its up to us parents and educators to give them a solid, safe foundation from which to fully develop their natural curiosity. We designed The Cedarhouse School to be that foundation. Here, children have the benefit of well-educated teachers who guide and observe rather than dictate. Our preparatory curriculum incorporates the best of all the leading early education philosophies. and our learning environment achieves the equilibrium of comfort and stimulation that every child needs in order to develop socially and emotionally and be truly prepared for intellectual growth.

Research suggests that children learn best when they feel secure in their environment and the safest place in a child’s world is his own home. That’s why we designed The Cedarhouse School to feel like home: spacious classrooms, soft furnishings, dedicated areas for relaxing and exploring, public spaces designed for community and socialization among children, parents, and teachers even a Creative Movement Room that acts as a rumpus room, just like home.

Once a child is truly comfortable, his curiosity takes over, and that’s where The Cedarhouse School curriculum comes in. We’ve designed it to be flexible enough that teachers may guide each child through his own process of discovery, yet sufficiently structured to prepare every child for the next step in the adventure of learning.
