Are you looking for an extraordinary experience for your child? The teachers at Renaissance Child Development Center have been providing enriching programs for young children since 1973. Conveniently nestled in Milwaukees eastside/downtown area, Renaissance is the home to the most exceptional, enriching, and affordable childcare in the area.

Organized over 30 years ago by a group of Milwaukee area families, Renaissance continues to carry out its mission of making outstanding teachers available to the its diverse community. Renaissance cares for children as young as 6 weeks up to the age of 12 years Monday-Friday 7am 6:30pm.

Renaissance has endured for over 30 years as a shining example of superior childcare in Milwaukee for many reasons, including:

  • Since Renaissance is a non-profit organization, the center has no owner; every penny that comes into the center is spent on the childcare services provided!
  • The Boss of Renaissance is the Board of Directors which is made up of parents at the center. In this way parents have direct control over the quality of the center. Parents on the board determine the policies and tuition prices and are responsible for setting the long term goals of the center. The parents REALLY are in charge!
  • Great Teachers: The number one goal at Renaissance is retaining excellent teachers. Renaissance is proud to say that many of its staff members have been with the center since the 1990s and even the 1980s. The staff is highly trained and views their careers at Renaissance as a lifelong commitment to teaching children.
  • Location: Renaissance has a prime location in Milwaukee convenient to both downtown and the east side.
  • Superior Facility: In addition to 6 classrooms Renaissance has a cafeteria and gymnasium. Renaissance also houses a huge 10,000 square foot playground professionally designed and landscaped as a beautiful park with gardens, climbing equipment and plenty of shade. While Renaissance is not a religious program, the facility is located in a beautiful church (St. Pauls Episcopal Church).
  • Free meals: Renaissance provides infant formula, jar food, and infant cereal for babies. Renaissance also provides three meals a day for children ages one year and older (breakfast, hot lunch, & afternoon snack). All of this is included in the cost of tuition.

The quality of a childcare center is determined by the quality of the childcare providers, the men and women you trust with your childs safety and wellbeing. Childcare is a field of work that depends entirely on the ability, patience, and energy of the teachers. Without the staffs full effort a childcare center cannot succeed. At Renaissance Child Development Center we have made hiring superior teachers our number one priority since 1973.

Renaissance traces its commitment to providing excellent teachers back to its infancy when a group of east side community members banded together to form our organization. Those men and women knew how important it was to make fantastic teachers available to working families. Our mission has remained the same ever since.

Creating a classroom that best serves Renaissance families starts with hiring top notch teachers. We look for motivated, goal-oriented individuals with a strong knowledge of early childhood development. Then we give those teachers the equipment they need to make their unique vision of the classroom come to life.

We view a childs enrollment at Renaissance as a multi-year commitment by us to provide the environment necessary for healthy development. Each classroom is designed to be a building block for children preparing them for our three and four year old preschool program and beyond that, our after school and summer school age program.

Each year your child spends at Renaissance is time spent moving closer and closer towards literacy. Our goal is to provide a relaxed atmosphere for our preschool children that expose them to the same type of academic material they would encounter in any kindergarten program. To meet this goal our teachers lay out specific objectives for their classrooms programs and plan their activities accordingly. Their carefully crafted plans ensure that the children in our program are not just intelligent but also well-rounded individuals.

As you search for the right childcare facility for your child ask yourself what matters the most in an early childhood setting. We fundamentally believe it is the teaching staff that makes the greatest difference. A teaching staff devoted to the development of each child. A teaching staff that comes to work with the ingrained goal of helping your child grow a little more each day. We have served our community as a non-profit center for over a quarter century under the premise that every child deserves a great teacher. We hope you will give us the privilege to be great teachers to your child!
