MetroKids

MetroKids, an early childhood education center located in First Covenant, is a wonderful place for children.

This nonprofit ministry focuses on high quality, developmentally appropriate learning and play for children aged six weeks through six years. During the summer, programming will be offered for school-age children who have completed kindergarten, first grade, or second grade. In the fall of 2011, MetroKids will also offer before/after programs for these school age kidsplus fun on days when regular school is closed due to teacher training, etc.

The fundamental premise of MetroKids curriculum is that children are active learners who learn best from activities they plan and carry out themselves. Teachers encourage children to initiate their own learning experiences with the guidance of supportive adults. Curriculum integrates the alphabet, writing, numbers, and small and large motor skills while focusing on both cognitive and social development. Through games, art activities, creative dramatics, stories, music, indoor and outdoor play, and sharing time, each child grows socially, emotionally, physically, intellectually and spiritually.

MetroKids is ideal for parents living or working downtown, as well as for those who travel near downtown.
