Peaceful Valley Montessori Academys (PVMA) purpose is to create an environment that fosters a love of learning and encourages each child to reach his/her fullest potential while treating others with kindness and compassion. By upholding the principles and practices that Dr. Maria Montessori set forth, we nurture the children to become self-respecting, socially conscious contributors to the community, and to become active and intelligent citizens of the world.

Peaceful Valley Montessori Academy is a special place for children to work, play, and grow in a natural environment. The prepared environment or Childrens House, as we call it, contains many developmental materials. Children move freely about the room and are not confined to desks or seating charts. In our specially prepared environments the children are free to choose activities and repeat as many times as they please.

The Childrens House is an extension of the home and functions in a similar manner. Our Practical life area, for example, prepares the children in tasks such as folding laundry, wiping up spills, setting the tables for lunch, cutting fruits and vegetables, as well as grace and courtesy lessons. By allowing the children to help with all areas of the environment we are fostering physical, psychological and social independence. Our mixed age ranges in the Childrens House allows each child to find leadership and mentorship roles. The children become active members of a community that provides order, care, and respect for themselves, others, and the environment.
