At Little Learners Preschool our program is carefully designed to:
Promote social interaction and emotional growth through casual and purposeful play experiences and thoughtfully planned activities to aid in establishing friendships with preschool children and adults other than immediate family members.
Inspire and expand the childs verbal expression and vocabulary through dramatic play music time group games finger-plays and hands-on materials.
Provide learning centers with motivational activities and expressive materials at each childs developmental level to build important foundations for future reading skills and academic pursuits.
Furnish challenging child-scaled equipment with the careful guidance of a teacher trained to aid in developing large and small muscle skills.
Encourage creativity and provide opportunities for the development of independence confidence a sense of self worth and respect for the rights and differences of others.
Stimulate each childs curiosity through enjoyable classroom experiences and special guests which instill a keener awareness and a heightened perception of the natural/physical world.

Young children learn through interaction with their environment. Until ages 8-9 children learn through manipulation of three-dimensional objects rather than two-dimensional paper and pencil. Little Learners Preschool’s play-based curriculum requires careful thought regarding how preschoolers approach learning centers drama corners story areas and more. And the more a child explores the hands-on carefully planned and developmentally sequenced play activities at Little Learners Preschool the stronger the foundation for learning.
Preschoolers learn best through firsthand experiences. So Little Learners Preschool invites special guests throughout the year that offer a look at the real world. For example Little Learners Preschool students can actually see how big a fire truck is compared to their own size when they can stand next to it. They may smell the rubber of the firefighters clothes and touch the bumpy cloth hoses. All of these sensory experiences help build a childs mental frame of reference.
One of the most valuable aspects of special guests at Little Learners Preschool is the expansion of vocabulary and language development that takes place as the children talk and write about what they see and do. If we want children to develop good verbal skills we must give them something exciting to talk and think about.
