THE MONTESSORI METHOD is based on pedagogy named after its founder Dr. Maria Montessori who recognized that each child has a natural curiosity and desire to learn. She determined that the role of education is to assist this process. Michigan Dunes Montessori shares this vision.

With the inclusion of parents each child is aided in reaching his or her full potential academically socially and emotionally. Michigan Dunes Montessori has earned a reputation for following the development of the child offering a respectful and nurturing environment.

AT MICHIGAN DUNES MONTESSORI opportunities abound for involvement in the classroom on field trips and assisting with fund raisers. Parents may also participate in the PIC (Parent Involvement Committee) which coordinates family social events volunteers and other projects. Additionally seminars are offered throughout the year for parent education in Montessori philosophy and for development of parenting skills.
