Preschool in New York, NY 10028
At Early Learning Foundations, our philosophy is based on the belief that children are competent, self-driven learners who benefit most through exploration and their interactions with each other.
Our approach to curriculum is play-based and child-led, emergent and integrated. Through careful observations the teachers become very attuned to the interests of the children and provide the materials to support and scaffold each child’s learning in a way that is fitting to his or her developmental strengths and challenges. We also believe that it is important to introduce new concepts, ideas, and themes to the classroom to ensure that the children are experiencing a range of activities that further support their growth and development. As activities in the classroom emerge from the children’s interests, we strive to provide learning experiences that promote development in all domains.
Classrooms are arranged into learning and activity centers. Sand/water, blocks, art, writing, manipulative, dramatic play, music, games, library and meeting areas-plus our incredible indoor gym offer exciting and meaningful learning experiences while affording each child the opportunity to develop the self-regulation skills that are essential to becoming a well-rounded community member.
It is always our goal at Early Learning Foundations to support and encourage children to be inquisitive, install a desire to learn, and, at all times help them to maintain their innate sense of joy and wonder regarding the world they live in.
Early Learning Foundations gives you and your child all the provisions of a Preschool but without the year-long commitment. Additionally, the Board of Health ensures that the high standards of a fully licensed program are maintained through regular inspections. All of our teachers hold qualifications relating to Early Childhood Education and Child Development.

We provide a comprehensive early years curriculum (cognitive, social and emotional, communication, language and literacy, mathematical, physical and creative areas) that openly values the importance of ‘play’ in children’s understanding of the world around them.
Monday through Friday, children spend 30 minutes in the Gymtime Gymnastics and Sports Center with our dynamic coaching team. This program enhances all aspects of the children’s physical development and compliments skill development in the classroom. Not least of all… it’s lots of fun!
All of our teachers hold qualifications relating to Early Education and Child Development. We work as a team to ensure consistency in all ELF classrooms.
