Learning derives from cultural activity, spontaenously built on the experiences of one’s environment. And among learning, no other subject is so closely bound to the cultural experience than language learning. Learning a second language cannot be reduced to a couple hours a week, nor to memorizing a few simple words. Children, any of us, for that matter, learn best and most efficiently when all our senses are engaged in the learning experience. Los Nios teachers all speak Spanish as their native language, and work with the children on a Spanish-first basis. The teachers follow-up in English as needed, though it rapidly becomes less and less necessary as the the children become accustomed to the language. And, of course, Los Nios teaches your child all the basics that they will need for a successful entry into kindergarten and beyond.
